VISIONARY AWARDS 2009
After completion of a hairdressing high school, Tomaž Turk has upgraded his skills at advanced courses by Vidal Sassoon, Guy Cramer, Jacques Dessange and Toni & Guy. Since 1998 he works as a creative leader in Mič Styling Salon in Ljubljana, where he creates new trends in hairstyling, teaches at the Mič Styling Academy, and regularly performs at hairdressing shows in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, and Serbia. As a platform artist he presented his work at Fashion Week Ljubljana in 2011 and 2012. His biggest achievement to date is finalist rank at International Visionary Award 2009 in London.
His visionary ideas are also appreciated in Slovenian film industry, where he worked on very successful feature films Rezervni deli (2003) and Desperado Tonic (2004), and at magazines Elle and Fashion Jana. He also left creative mark at TV-shows Stilski izziv (1998), Slovenia top model (2010), The X Factor (2012), and in the music video Il Divo. A special challenge for him represent stylings for print and video ad industries, where he worked for such brands as Audi, Subaru, Max, Deutsche Telekom, Pure Blonde, and many others.
Tomaž's passion is to create new fashion trends, many times by also developing new cutting techniques, which is partly influenced by him being left-handed, as most of the regular techniques are developed for right-handed cutting. He is a married father of two children and lives in Ljubljana.
